It was lovely to see so many of you at our parent evening "Introduction to the Junior School" on the Wednesday 25th September. As promised you can find some of the photos that I presented during my talk on that evening.
I am happy to say that all children have settled in well and seem to enjoy our project about vertebrates and invertebrates. After learning about fish, the children have learnt about amphibians and have just started studying reptiles.
They are all busy working during the morning work cycle and love building the "leaning tower of Pisa, trying out the volcano experiment, doing multiplication using the Montessori "short bead stairs" as well as playing the "addition bank game" using the golden bead material which involves working with thousands, hundreds, tens and units.
Of course there are many more things that the children work with during a day in Elementary one, but I think pictures speak more than words!
Please take a look at the wonderful art work the children have produced: pictures of hot lava, life cycle of frogs and colourful fish.
It is such a pleasure to teach Elementary 1 and we are looking forward to continuing this journey!
