The children from Elementary 1 enjoyed their trip to Hampstead Heath on 13 June 2013. The children attended a workshop about "leaves and bugs".
We got to enter a "secret garden" for which we needed a special key to get into. In this garden we found many tiny bugs and slugs and even a toad. All the children loved to investigate the insects with a magnifying class.
We also saw lovely plants like buttercups, elderflowers and sting nettles that we couldn't touch. Can you spot these plants amongst photos below?
Back at school we made some lovely leaf and tree bark rubbings in the garden and learnt the names of the parts of a leaf and a tree as well as the needs of a plant such as minerals, water, sun and air.
