When Elementary 1 studied Russia the children learnt about lake Baikal and the Baikal seal. Many children created their own lake using clay. They also loved finding out more about brown bears that live in the north of Russia.
It was so nice to see how much the children were engaged in making their own paper Russian Babushka dolls. This art activity was a great opportunity to introduce and revise terminology such as "big-bigger-biggest" and "small-smaller-smallest" as well as "bigger than" and "smaller than".
