Over the past two weeks Elementary 1 has been busy learning and talking about the animal kingdom. We discussed the difference between vertebrates and invertebrates.
Last week we discovered facts about insects and this week we have been studying fish. The children loved creating animals such as a pufferfish as part of their art lesson.
Our high light of the week was dissecting a fish. The children were really interested in looking at the parts of the fish and its organs. Some children were fascinated by it and some disliked the smell! 😊
The children have also been busy learning their sounds and working on letter formation. We also continued to work on mathematics using concrete Montessori materials as part of the morning work cycle.
We are looking forward to our trip to Kentish Town Farm next week!
