Elementary 1 and 2:

Elementary 1 and 2 had such a great time celebrating Chinese New Year at school. They thoroughly enjoyed their cooking session with Miss Hiroe where they peeled and chopped vegetables such as mushrooms, carrots, peppers, onions. ginger, garlic etc. and enjoyed the delicious Chinese stir-fry for lunch.

Children learnt about the story of the Chinese New year and watched a small clip wherein they witnessed a Chinese New Year celebration and all that it entails.

It truly was a great way to understand another culture from another part of the world!

Primary enjoyed cooking spring rolls with Miss Girlie. To celebrate the year of the dog some children painted lovely pictures of a dog and wrote Happy New Year in Chinese.

All primary children learnt about the Chinese New Year traditions and how to count to 10 in Chinese.

All the children took home oranges for good luck!

We all enjoyed celebrating Chinese New Year.

The children learned how the festival is celebrated and its origins & significance.

Many of us wore red or special Chinese style outfits and we made paintings to welcome in the Year of the Dog!
