On Thursday the whole of preparatory visited the Tate Modern!
We were lucky enough to have Ms. Hiroe as our guide around the gallery. Her extensive knowledge of conceptual art captivated the children’s interest and encouraged them to think outside of the box. We focused on artists we have been studying this term, including Bridget Riley and Rachel Whiteread.
We also spent some time looking at Rothko, Degas, Monet, Gormley and some visual art.
As it was such a beautiful day we spent the afternoon eating lunch by the Thames, pottering over Millennium Bridge to St Paul’s Cathedral and playing on the swing exhibition outside the Tate.
I think all the children will thoroughly agree it was an all-round wonderful, fun day out!
