Please see below a selection of pictures displaying Reception Class children, working beautifully with Language, Maths, Geometry, Sensorial and Culture materials.
There are also a few images of some of the group activities that the children have participated such as measuring objects in the environment with Elementary one, attending French with Miss Emmanuelle and painting Van Gogh's sunflowers with Miss Girlie.
The children have had very purposeful morning work cycles writing letters, exploring phonetic sounds of letters and doing ‘word building’ activities with the Montessori Moveable Alphabet. Some children have also been working with numbers beyond 10 while others are currently revising their numbers from 1-10 using the Montessori Spindle Box, the Number Rods, and Sandpaper Numerals. Some children have also been working on addition, subtraction and multiplication using specific Montessori materials. Over the past few weeks we have all been very busy indeed!
If you would like to find out more about Montessori and how it continues for the children older than six, come and join us for our
Montessori Open Evening for parents on Tuesday, 22nd November at 7.00pm at the Junior School.
We are looking forward to seeing you at this event!
