WHAT AN EVENING!
WHAT A MEAL!
WHAT AN EVENT!
PREPARATORY CLASS PUTS ON A WONDERFUL
'POP UP RESTAURANT' NIGHT
FOR
Those of us fortunate to have bought tickets to our Junior School Preparatory Class's first 'Pop Up' Restaurant night, were treated to one of the most special events held at Rainbow Montessori for years!
Held on Friday 15th March 2013 - there was laughter, music, great atmosphere and a fantastic bunch of very chatty and very proud parents and not to mention a small sprinkling of very privileged staff - myself included!
Miss Hiroe deserves so much credit, both for the original idea and also for her training the front of house staff who could easily grace any Michelin starred restaurant. Immaculately turned out and attentive throughout, they brought a wonderful professionalism to the whole evening. The service was second to none.
I have, of course, held off the best until last!
We must not forget the food! If there was one thing which could top the evening it was the superb food cooked by the Preparatory Class rear of house cooks.
Taught by Miss Hiroe, we were treated to a wonderful menu:
Starter
Salmon goujons with rocket salad
Goats's Cheese and beetroot ravioli with lemon and garlic sauce
Main Course
Lamb shank with red wine juis, served with kale and new potatoes
Kale, mushroom and buffalo mozzarella calzone
Desserts
Chocolate fondant with raspberry coulis
Pavlova with rhubarb compote and natural yoghurt
All of this was served at the perfect temperature and was truly delicious. It is a testament to both Miss Hiroe's recipes and the standards of the cooks on the night that I don't think a single plate went back other than completely empty!
In addition to the events on the night, Preparatory had to prepare the whole event on the basis of a business plan presented to me which involved a great deal of planning, such as finances for putting the evening together alongside marketing and room dressing preparation that comes with any event like this.
As a result of their efforts, this evening showcased the very ideals of Montessori independence and confidence by children who are a real credit to our school and provided a truly memorable evening.
A big thank you to all the staff who helped with this evening - especially to the marvellous Mr Terence and of course the wonderful Miss Hiroe.
We look forward to seeing you at our next Pop Up event!
Mr. John
